Even So

This is a close up of a bud on the fig tree in the backyard. You can see the “velvetiness” on the young newly opened leaf. Soon, more buds will sprout……more leaves will fill the branches. Then the fruit will come and grow and ripen. That’s the expectation.

That’s what’s supposed to happen.

But what if it doesn’t.

Even so………..

17 Though the fig tree does not bud
    and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
    and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
    and no cattle in the stalls,
18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
    I will be joyful in God my Savior.

19 The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
    he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
    he enables me to tread on the heights.

Habakkuk 3:17-19 NIV

    You know I LOVE these kinds of pictures …and analogies! 😉 God is so good to give us visual aids to reveal His word in tangible ways. Beautiful Marie!

    Even though it was almost 30 years ago, I still remember sharing this passage at a church meeting in my first congregation that was made up mostly of experienced farmers. They all knew firsthand about crop failure and other farming losses. They still put their hope in the Lord. It made a lasting impression on a young pastor.

      I love this passage. It’s applicable to any of our difficulties. God is faithful. Im glad to know the farmers look to Him.
