Mom is sick. And this time she’s not getting better.

Her disease has progressed and her body weakened. But her hope has strengthened. She’s closer to being where she wants to be. In the words of her favorite hymn,

I’m kind of homesick for a country
to which I’ve never been before.
No sad goodbyes will there be spoken,
And time won’t matter anymore

I’m looking now across the river
where my faith shall end in sight.
There’s just a few more days to labor,
Then I’ll take, my heavenly flight

Beulah Land I’m longing for you,
and someday on thee I’ll stand.
There my home shall be eternal.
Beulah Land… sweet Beulah Land

Very soon Mom will not be sick. She’ll breathe easily, run freely, and laugh joyfully. She’ll be home with her Heavenly Father.

We are all here waiting with her for that moment. A bittersweet one for those of us left here without her. But a sweet moment for Mom. We’re thankful for this sweet hope. The hope of God’s promises. The hope of what’s to come. The hope of being with Him forever.

Soon Mom. Soon.

If our hope in Christ is for this life only, we should be pitied more than anyone else in the world.
1 Corinthians 15:19. NCV

Marie…this was so beautifully written. We sang that song at my dad’s funeral and I wept through it at your dad’s funeral ! I’m so glad that your mom is now breathing freely…dancing with your dad…enjoying Jesus . Her “soon” is “now” ! I love you and am praying as you continue your journey through this time…

I sympathize with your situation with your mom. My dad just passed away on July 1st. Loss is something that really does make us feel helpless. Prayers to you and your family.

Thank you. I’m sorry for your loss. We lost Daddy in June last year. It is a helpless feeling.
Many blessings to you and your family.
